Saving nasturtium seeds may just be the easiest gardening adventure you will ever partake in. Here are the easy steps:
Option 1 – When the blossoms have begun to fall away and three large green seeds are present, pluck the three seeds from the plants.
Separate the seeds and lay flat to dry. When the seeds are completely dry, they will have shrunken to about half the size of the fresh seeds. They will also be hard and have a tough brown skin.
Option 2 – If there is no danger of rain (very important or the seeds will not be viable for saving!), the seeds can be left on the plant until they are slightly dried. Then the plants can simply be shaken and moved to the side. The seeds can then be simply picked up off the ground, laid out to dry and saved.
And that’s it. Super easy. In fact, it is so easy that you could enjoy a few refreshing adult beverages and still successfully harvest nasturtium seeds!
